Unveiling the Drakospita of Euboea
On the Greek island of Euboea, a collection of 23 ancient megalithic structures known as “Dragon Houses” or “drakospita” stand as silent sentinels to a bygone era. These remarkable constructions, found primarily in the Ochi Mountain and Styra regions, have captivated researchers and locals alike with their enduring architecture and perplexing origins.
Architectural Marvels of the Ancient World
The Dragon Houses are marvels of ancient engineering, built without mortar and utilizing massive stone blocks. Intriguingly, one potsherd bore inscriptions in an unknown script, adding another layer of mystery to these ancient structures.
